Cilegon, November 27, 2025 – PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk together with PT KSI welcomed the Working Visit of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives at The Royale Krakatau Hotel, Convention Hall, Cilegon, with a focus on supervising industrial estates, particularly the Krakatau Industrial Estate owned by PT KSI.

Led by Hj. Chusnunia Chalim, Ph.D., Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives expressed its appreciation for PT KS's resilience amid global challenges while reaffirming its commitment to accelerating the Industrial Estate Bill, which will provide a stronger legal framework and long-term investment incentives.

PT KS President Director Akbar Djohan expressed high hopes that the Krakatau Cilegon Industrial Area will soon be designated as a National Steel Special Economic Zone (KEK) in 2026. This KEK status will accelerate investment, provide licensing facilities and tax incentives, and attract global-scale downstream steel and green steel industries.

Responding positively, Ministry of Industry Expert Staff Andi Rizaldi stated that the Ministry of Industry has included this proposal in the national priority list and is targeting its enactment through a Government Regulation in 2026 as a role model for thematic SEZs based on green and low-carbon industries. The House of Representatives' Commission VII reaffirmed its commitment to overseeing the Industrial Zone Bill, the establishment of the Krakatau Cilegon SEZ, and the transformation of PT Krakatau Steel into a pioneer of national steel industry sovereignty.
